A prominent bed retailer has opened 15 new stores in just three weeks, a record for the UK bed specialist. This rapid expansion has led to the creation of 50 new jobs and saved 20 positions following the collapse of Carpetright. Notably, the openings of the company, Bensons for Beds, include a return to Northern Ireland after four years with a new store in Belfast, as well as locations in Aberdeen, Exeter, and a high-street store in Sutton, marking a shift from their typical retail park format.

CEO Nick Collard highlighted the achievement, calling it unprecedented for the business, especially given the current economic climate. He also shared that Bensons has been gaining significant market share in its core bedroom categories, thanks to investments in in-store training, value-driven offerings, new product launches, and enhanced digital capabilities.
Collard expressed optimism about the company's future, stating that Bensons is well-positioned to capitalise on market recovery. He emphasised that the company's transformation, which began with its return to profitability in 2023, is driving its ambition to become the leading bed specialist.
