Copacabana Lounge Chair awarded 'Greatest Comeback' at Domino Good Design Awards

The Copacabana Lounge Chair has just been awarded 'Greatest Comeback' at Domino Good Design Awards. The Copacabana Lounge Chair's ability to transition from indoor to outdoor use reflects designer Mathieu Matégot's vision. It embodies a bohemian, alfresco aesthetic, where the distinction between indoor and outdoor furniture lies only in the material, not the design.

When it was first designed by Mathieu Matégot in 1955, this tubular lounge chair was meant for indoors only. This year, Gubi reengineered the piece as part of its ongoing Al Fresco series, adding drainage holes, weatherproof upholstery, and a newly angled backrest.
