Spanish design brand Vergés has launched several new designs: Eolo & Catalina

The Spanish design brand Vergés has launched several new designs, like the Eolo modular sofa and the Catalina chair. They were presented at the Feria Hábitat Valencia fair.

Eolo sofa
Eolo is a very comfortable modular sofa with rounded shapes and smooth lines designed by Estudi Manel Molina. Its name refers to Eolo, the mythological god of the winds. The folding and stitching of its armrests give it personality and character, and make it a sofa with a youthful and casual look, making it suitable for all kinds of communal areas. Its modules allow multiple configurations to adapt to the dynamic situations of contemporary interiors.

Manel Molina Studio. After a long professional career as one of the co-founders of the Lievore Altherr Molina studio, 2016 will welcome the start of a new professional chapter, the creation of Estudi ManelMolina with the collaboration of Raimon Monsarro and Daniel Castro. The studio will continue developing projects in industrial design and consulting activities.

Catalina chair
Catalina is an honest, elegant, stackable and very versatile chair. With a minimalist aesthetic, it is inspired by 20th century Catalan rationalist architecture, Catalina is aversion of the traditional bulrush seat chair. Its refined lines and intentionally simple geometry give centre stage to materials such as ash wood, rope and leather.

Andreu Carulla, designer of the Bernardes collection for Vergés, graduated from the Politécnica deGirona in 2002 with a degree in industrial design. Four years later, he founded his own studio, which has quickly become one of the country's most versatile design firms. His projects, which include furniture, tableware, lighting, fashion and interior design, among others, stand out for their continuous exploration of material, old-school techniques and modern processes.
