Interview with Franco Ferri Italia:

'The US can change more rapidly and react differently to market situation compared to Europe'

Franco Ferri Italia, founded in 1956 by Rocco Ferri Senior, is known for its craftsmanship and timeless Italian design. It has expanded its reach across Europe and into markets like the US and the Far East. We interview Franco Ferri Italia, while they are gearing up for the High Point Market, where they will debut a new collection focused on motion and comfort, specifically tailored for the US market.

Can you tell me more about the history of Franco Ferri Italia and how it was founded?
'This is a story of passion, craftsmanship and design all Made in Italy. The company was founded in 1956 by Rocco Ferri Senior and continues into its third generation, with Franco Ferri and his son Rocco and daughter Paola. Projecting itself towards new and exciting future goals, the brand has always remained faithful to its philosophy: to use and develop precious craftsmanship techniques, high manual skill, combined with new technologies and materials of absolute value, to respond to the demands of modernity. This is how Franco Ferri Italia has become, over the years, synonymous with that all-Italian artisanal know-how applied to upholstery and coordinated accessories.'

In what markets is the brand most active?
'Franco Ferri Italia is historically very well established in Continental Europe: Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and also in the UK. Also in the Far East Franco Ferri Italia Brand is much appreciated.'

How is the market right now?
'The European Market in this specific moment is quieter than US, though the US is also suffering from the current global turmoils and internal political situation. Market dynamics are different. The US can change more rapidly and react differently to market situation compared to Europe.'

You'll soon be at High Point Market. What are your expectations for the fair?
'Our expectations for the High Point Market are pretty good. We expect many customers and designers to visit our booth and discover our latest developments.

Franco Ferri Italia will be displaying a completely new collection in High Point, specifically designed for the US Market. The main focus of the new collection is on motion and comfort. These two aspects are very much appreciated in the US Market and these are also our strong points of our Collection, so we are pretty positive about the outcome.'

What are the future plans for the company?
'Our strategy for the future is to expand more in the US, Far East and Middle East and strengthen our brand positioning in the markets. Franco Ferri Italia is going to set up a network of Sales Agents in the US Market to better serve all our customers in the different states.'
