In August 2024, the German kitchen furniture industry reported sales exceeding 399 million euros, reflecting a significant decline of 24.18% compared to the same month last year, as indicated by the Federal Statistical Office and the Association of the German Kitchen Furniture Industry (VdDK).
Both domestic and foreign sales experienced sharp declines, with domestic sales dropping by 24.34% and exports decreasing by 23.97%. The export quota stood at 44.18% for August.

Despite these challenges, the industry maintains a robust workforce, comprising 46 companies with over 50 employees each, employing more than 17,800 individuals.
The data highlights the ongoing struggles faced by the sector, with both local and international markets contributing to the downturn in sales. The significant decrease raises concerns about the industry's future performance and adaptability in a changing economic landscape.
