JYSK opens 100th store in Hungary

This week, JYSK made history in Hungary with the opening of its 100th store. The occasion was marked by speeches and festivities nationwide, celebrating JYSK's presence in the country since 2005.

The opening event was attended by JYSK President & CEO Rami Jensen, Country Director for Hungary, Austria, and Greece Sandor Szimeiszter, and the Danish Ambassador to Hungary, Christian Thorning, who welcomed numerous customers eager for great offers.

'I am very happy to celebrate the opening of store number 100 here in Hungary, and I would like to thank our employees and the leadership team for their dedication in reaching this significant milestone,' says Rami Jensen. He reflected on his time as Country Director and expressed excitement about the organisation's growth, noting, 'I am sure that there are many more milestones to celebrate in the coming years.'

The first JYSK store opened in 2005 in Fót, near Budapest, while the 100th store is located in Debrecen, eastern Hungary. The opening celebrations included special offers and product donations to local organisations.

With growth in revenue, customer numbers, and online sales, JYSK sees significant potential for further expansion as it approaches its 20th anniversary in Hungary next year. Sandor Szimeiszter emphasised the importance of JYSK's Scandinavian roots and employee dedication, noting that 99.7% of the Hungarian population is within an hour's travel of a JYSK store.
