Nick Wilkinson, Dunelm's CEO, expressed satisfaction with the robust sales performance, highlighting the company's commitment to offering a diverse range of home products at competitive prices. He noted the success of their largest student campaign to date, which appealed to customers seeking vibrant and stylish designs.
Online sales were particularly strong, bolstered by enhancements to the digital shopping experience, including a new AI-driven product discovery feature in collaboration with Google, aimed at improving customer search functionality.
Dunelm is also making strides in its strategic objectives, such as opening its first inner London store at Westfield London in the first half of the year to capitalise on high foot traffic. The company plans to launch five to ten new superstores annually in the medium term.
Despite ongoing challenges in consumer sentiment, Wilkinson remains optimistic about gaining market share, aiming for a target of 10% in the medium term as they continue to execute their strategic initiatives.
