The association invites experts and interested parties to explore the latest developments in the mattress industry, emphasising the importance of the circular economy for the sector's future. Matratzen-Industrie e.V. is collaborating closely with the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU) to advocate for legal regulations regarding mattresses.
Martin Auerbach, Managing Director of the trade association, states, 'Heimtextil is the ideal setting to advance the dialogue on sustainability and the circular economy in our industry. We support a legally regulated system of extended producer responsibility, including R-strategies, reverse logistics, and innovative recycling solutions.'
Auerbach will present on the current state of discussions regarding the circular economy in the mattress industry on the first day of the trade fair, January 14, 2025, at 12:00 noon, as part of the 'Econogy Talks' in Hall 12.1.
The Matratzen-Industrie e.V. represents leading manufacturers of mattresses and bed systems, accounting for over 70% of the mattress industry in Germany and maintaining connections with key stakeholders across Europe.
Smart Bedding - Hall 11.0: Renowned brands under one roof
Leading manufacturers of bedding, mattresses, and sleep systems will gather in Smart Bedding Hall 11.0 at Heimtextil. Major German brands like Badenia Bettcomfort, Brinkhaus, Centa-Star, and others will be present, alongside international companies such as Billerbeck Switzerland, John Cotton Europe, and Norvigroup Denmark.
Olaf Schmidt, Vice President of Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt, notes, 'Heimtextil 2025 will feature numerous well-known international exhibitors from the mattress segment, emphasizing our commitment to sustainable growth in this area.'
