'U.S. politics has unfortunately moved in a protectionist direction over a prolonged period. However, campaign slogans are one thing, and the actual policies are still something that can be influenced through dialogue and good relations. Threats of higher tariffs and reduced American involvement in international affairs would, in the long run, make both us and the U.S. poorer. This situation must be avoided,' says Sofia Larsen.
