Furniture giant XXXLutz has announced the closure of six Lipo stores as part of a strategic shift. After acquiring the Lipo furniture stores, the new owner XXXLutz is reorganising. The closures affect branches of the retailer, in Reinach (BL), Winterthur, St. Gallen, Suhr (AG), Interlaken (BE), and Pratteln (BL). These locations are being integrated into other XXXLutz brands, including Mömax, Conforama, and XXXLutz itself.

This decision is driven by a realignment of Lipo's brand strategy, which is moving towards a discount-focused model. The closures are aimed at streamlining operations, as these six stores no longer align with the new positioning of Lipo.
Despite the closures, the approximately 70 employees will not lose their jobs. They will be offered the opportunity to transfer to other Lipo stores or to the newly positioned Mömax, Conforama, and XXXLutz locations.
With this move, XXXLutz seeks to strengthen its overall presence in Switzerland, while reducing the number of Lipo stores from 22 to 16. The conversion of the closed stores is part of the larger strategy to make Lipo's brand more clearly defined within the market.
