He left the company, Fritz Hansen on October 31, 2024, and is no longer part of the board. This decision was confirmed by Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker, the majority shareholder of Fritz Hansen. Brandt had been Chairman since 2017 and made a significant impact during his tenure, helping the company strengthen its position in the industry.
Under his leadership, Fritz Hansen saw a notable turnaround, including a positive financial result for 2023, with a profit of DKK 13 million, after a loss of DKK 10.8 million in 2022. The company had faced challenges, including the departure of CEO Josef Kaiser earlier in 2024 after a short tenure.
Following Brandt's departure, the company is now searching for a new Chairman. In the interim, Mark Johnston, a current board member and Managing Director at Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker, will serve as interim Chairman. Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker holds a 65% stake in Fritz Hansen, while C.W. Obel owns the remaining 35%, with both companies being fond-owned.
The board expressed gratitude for Henrik Brandt's contributions, acknowledging the improvements made under his leadership, and the company is moving forward with a new leadership search. The current leadership team includes Henrik Steensgaard, who was hired as the new CEO earlier this year.
