SLIDE seeks to carve out a unique space for itself in the world of design

Founded in 2002, SLIDE is based in Buccinasco, just outside Milan, has over time carved out a unique space for itself in the world of design, combining aesthetics, emotion and functionality. SLIDE's mission was clear from the outset: to revolutionise the furniture market with products that are visually impactful and 'happy' and at the same time practical and durable.

SLIDE immediately specialised in the production of high-quality polyethylene furniture and lighting fixtures, suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments, distinguished by a playful soul and bright colours. Embodying the spirit of Made in Italy, the company makes design one of its specialities by entrusting internationally renowned designers with the design of many collections. Alessandro Mendini, Paola Navone, Stefano Giovannoni, Marcel Wanders, Fabio Novembre, Karim Rashid, Marc Sadler, Francesco Favaretto and Marcantonio are just some of the signatures that have contributed to the creation of the brand's iconic pieces and bestsellers.

Each product is designed to add character and personality to any environment through bold colours and unconventional shapes, offering solutions that significantly enhance the aesthetic and functional value of the spaces they occupy.

SLIDE's work extends beyond the world of large-scale events to the residential and hospitality markets, both in Italy and abroad. SLIDE successfully exports collections including benches and sofas, tables and chairs, lamps and bar counters to 130 countries worldwide.

SLIDE was founded by GiĆ² Colonna Romano, a passionate engineer and designer entrepreneur, who combined his fervid imagination with thirty years of know-how in the processing of plastic resins. Since 2015, the company has been run by Marco Colonna Romano, the current Managing Director and son of the founder.

Corporate philosophy
SLIDE is committed to bringing Made in Italy quality, creativity and design culture to the world, developing a unique philosophy called 'Made in SLIDE'. This philosophy is reflected in all phases of the product: experimentation, engineering, moulding, painting, packaging and logistics, all rigorously carried out in its own factory. This approach guarantees total control over the final quality of the products as well as speed and flexibility in delivery. Over the years, SLIDE has also expanded its range of accessories to match its production to include cushions and fabrics for more comfortable and refined seating, glass and HPL tops particularly suitable for hospitality, and metals to embellish some of its lamps.

Sustainability
SLIDE products are made from recyclable and recycled materials, using the rotational moulding technique that allows versatility in shapes and sizes. Products created to last, because they are adaptable, easy to maintain and resistant. Linear low-density polyethylene, the main material of SLIDE's products, is mono-material and 100% recyclable and therefore infinitely reusable. The grey and black colours in the catalogue are obtained entirely from recycled plastics; in fact, defective products are already cut within the company and after a process of reverse logistics and re-dusting, the supplier returns plastics that become dark-coloured furniture.

The company is also active in the research and use of second-life plastics (made from tetrapack) or bio-plastics. An example of this is the Afrika collection, designed by Marcantonio and made of a bio-plastic obtained from sugar cane (therefore of vegetable origin and not fossil); but also the collection formed by Ambrogio, Amanda and Together, designed by Francesco Favaretto, which gives a second life to packaging destined for incinerators.
