Pedrali celebrates 10 year anniversary of the Log collection

2024 marks a special anniversary for Pedrali: ten years of the Log collection, designed by Busetti Garuti Redaelli. First showcased at Salone del Mobile.Milano in 2014, Log immediately garnered acclaim, winning the first prize at Young & Design. The collection epitomises pure design – a single-volume seating that welcomes the body gently, without hindering movements.

'Log armchair emerged from our desire to create a sculptural seat - a seamless volume combining formal simplicity, lightness, and comfort,' say the designers. This vision was realised through a meticulous process akin to sculpting, where each element was refined to achieve an ideal harmony between stability, aesthetics, and simplicity.

Defined by a slender silhouette, Log stands out for its apparent mono-material design – a one-piece shell consisting of a steel frame enveloped in polyurethane foam, yielding a refined, ergonomic seat. This simple yet innovative construction has enabled Pedrali to create a durable, lightweight product, versatile in purpose. The agile structure and careful material selection meet contemporary demands for resistance and adaptability, making it easy to move and allowing for flexible spatial arrangements.

Log's elegance and versatility have inspired new adaptations over the years, broadening its applications. This evolution led to the introduction of the lounge chair and pouf versions in 2015, followed by the two-seater sofa in 2016. The lounge version reinterprets the volumes of the armchair, softening the shapes and giving them generous sizes. The pouf can be used for a variety of purposes: as a comfortable support, an extra seat, or a footrest for complete relaxation. The two-seater sofa, with soft and cozsy shapes, is characterised by a surprising lightness, allowing for a quick and fluid outfit of the spaces. While retaining the harmonious aesthetic of the original armchair, Log Lounge, Log Pouf, and Log Sofa represent further explorations into comfort and flexibility, expanding furnishing options with a unique, minimalist style.

Over the past decade, the Log collection has become a favourite in prominent international projects, thanks to its versatile and essential design, perfectly suited for both domestic and commercial settings.

At the Hotel Mon Sant Benet, a peaceful retreat near Barcelona, Log poufs furnish the lounge area, offering guests a relaxing, comfortable space. At the Milano Verticale, Log Lounge armchairs in grey have been selected to furnish the hotel rooms.

In Stockholm, Unit 4 offices feature Log Lounge armchairs and poufs in the relaxation area, while Copernico workspace in Milan integrates Log armchairs into meeting spaces, enhancing comfort and focus. At the Pfizer headquarters in Vienna, Log sofas in vibrant yellow and teal enliven the lounge area, with a flexible layout that allows the area to be easily reconfigured.

Log armchairs also welcome guests in the veranda at Le Village by Credit Agricole in Milan, creating a cosy corner. Finally, at the Scalapay HQ, Log Lounge armchairs in a terracotta hue enhance the reception area, welcoming visitors upon arrival.
