Studio Fabrika transforms a luxury Albanian villa

'A seamless connection between the indoors and the surrounding environment'

Since its founding in 2008 by interior designer and visual artist Rovena Agolli, Studio Fabrika has established itself as a leading force in the Albanian architecture and interior design scene. Specialising in high-end residential and commercial projects, the firm has consistently demonstrated a unique approach to design that combines creativity with functionality. Over the years, Studio Fabrika has garnered attention for its ability to deliver sophisticated spaces that seamlessly blend luxury with comfort, both in Albania and internationally. Their latest accolade—winning the Best Luxury Residential Renovation for Villa ANDI at the Luxury Lifestyle Awards—further cements their reputation as innovators in the world of luxury design.

Rovena Agolli, the founder of Studio Fabrika, has built a team of architects and designers who are passionate about delivering exceptional projects that exceed client expectations. Agolli's background in visual arts brings a unique aesthetic sensibility to the firm's designs, allowing for a distinctive and authentic approach that sets Studio Fabrika apart from other design studios. The team's dedication to blending form with function is evident in each project, with careful attention to detail and a focus on creating spaces that reflect both elegance and practicality. This ethos is particularly evident in Villa ANDI, where the client's vision of a luxurious and functional space was stunningly brought to life.

Villa ANDI
Located in the prestigious Rolling Hills complex near Tirana, Villa ANDI is an example of Studio Fabrika's ability to transform a traditional residential property into a luxurious and modern living space. The villa, originally 450 m², was expanded to 650 m² across three levels as part of an ambitious renovation project. The client's brief was clear: to enhance the villa's indoor spaces and create new functional areas while maintaining a sense of luxury and refinement. Studio Fabrika delivered on all fronts, adding a range of premium features such as a wine cellar, a gym, a mini-spa, a pool area, a gazebo with a fireplace, and a redesigned garage.

The design team focused on creating open, light-filled spaces by relocating interior walls and redesigning the facade. The integration of large windows allowed for an abundance of natural light, creating a seamless connection between the indoors and the surrounding environment. This focus on light and space is one of the hallmarks of Studio Fabrika's design philosophy, which emphasises the importance of creating atmospheres that feel both expansive and intimate.

Luxury meets sustainability
While Villa ANDI is a showcase of luxury, Studio Fabrika also prioritised sustainability throughout the project. Solar panels were installed to generate energy for the residence, while a thermal facade was used to improve energy efficiency. These eco-friendly features demonstrate Studio Fabrika's dedication to integrating sustainable solutions into their designs, ensuring that the projects they deliver are not only aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally responsible.

The use of high-end materials such as natural stone, marble, and wood contributed to the villa's elegant and timeless appeal. Each material was carefully chosen for its durability, beauty, and ability to elevate the overall design. This attention to detail in material selection emphasises Studio Fabrika's expertise in negating aesthetics with functionality.
