Daniel Borgstedt steps down as Managing Director of Alliance

German kitchen association Alliance recently announced leadership changes. On January 1, 2025, Daniel Borgstedt will step down as Managing Director of Alliance to focus exclusively on his role at KüchenTreff. Marc Mispelkamp will assume Borgstedt's operational responsibilities at Alliance, and no additional managing director will be appointed, aligning with Alliance's aim for a lean and efficient management structure.

This leadership transition within the Alliance, KüchenTreff, and Der Küchenring partnership has been planned over time in close coordination with the supervisory board. Given the distinct needs of Alliance and KüchenTreff, combining leadership for both in a single position proved unsustainable. Borgstedt will therefore dedicate himself solely to his role in Wildeshausen.

Preparations have been made to ensure a smooth handover, with Mispelkamp having already taken on several of Borgstedt's responsibilities. Working alongside Managing Director Jürgen Feldmann, Mispelkamp will focus on marketing and sales while representing Alliance externally. This decision reflects Alliance's strategy to foster internal talent and maintain streamlined structures.

Volker Peeck, Chairman of the Alliance Supervisory Board, reflects with great gratitude on the time shared with Borgstedt: 'We understand Daniel Borgstedt's decision, who has made significant contributions to Alliance over the past four years, greatly strengthening the association. We recognise the challenges that come with dual responsibilities for two large alliance groups in marketing and sales. The Supervisory Board has unanimously and with confidence approved Marc Mispelkamp to take over these duties. He is part of our second leadership tier, which, together with the well-known managing directors Steinmeier and Feldmann, is not only responsible for day-to-day operations but also for the conceptual development of our association. We are convinced that with the realignment of our leadership team, we have established a competent and effective succession plan in the interests of all partners. At the same time, we look forward to the continuation of our good and successful collaboration with Daniel Borgstedt within the Alliance, Der Küchenring, and KüchenTreff cooperatives.'

Alliance, with 375 members and 544 stores, has been a prominent force in Germany's furniture and kitchen trade associations for over 50 years. Supported by Der Küchenring and KüchenTreff, Alliance leads the kitchen retail sector among purchasing groups and is notably successful in the self-service segment.
