A French furniture retailer's recent liquidation has left many customers in distress, after they have allegedly failed to receive orders or refunds, or reach the customer centre for help. As such, many have considered legal action. This was reported by Marie France.
The company, Ela Home, unable to find a buyer, has seen its assets—including sofas, chairs, and tables—auctioned off on November 12, 2024. This has left customers who had ordered products in the previous months without any goods or recourse.
Despite being placed in liquidation, Ela Home's website continued to accept orders and process payments until November 7, leading to confusion among shoppers who were unaware of the company's financial troubles.

Some customers were even misled by promotions, such as a 20% discount on specific products, which further obscured the company's true situation. Many clients, who had paid for their orders, have reported that they never received their goods or any refunds, and are struggling to get in touch with customer service.
As a result, a number of frustrated buyers have turned to official channels to report the situation, suspecting they may have been scammed. Some have already involved legal authorities, while others are considering taking legal action. For those affected, it is advised to contact the SCP Mandateam, the firm handling the liquidation, through mail or email by November 22, 2024, in hopes of resolving the issue, though recovery of funds is not guaranteed.
