A North Wales-based upholstery manufacturer has announced plans to centralise its operations by consolidating all production through a single factory. This strategic move comes as the company responds to challenging market conditions and the loss of a key customer.

The company, Westbridge Furniture, will transfer all production activities from its WB3 site in Deeside to its WB2 facility in Holywell by the end of 2024. Despite this consolidation, Westbridge plans to maintain robust production capacity through optimised shift patterns. The WB3 facility, located in the Deeside Industrial Park, will remain under the company's ownership, with the potential to resume operations when market demand improves.
Westbridge, part of the Belfield Group backed by NorthEdge and parent to Tetrad, is also exiting the soft furnishings sector by January as part of a broader restructuring effort.
The decision to consolidate operations reflects both a challenging trading environment across the industry and the exit of Marks & Spencer—a long-term partner—from bulky furniture products
