As of yesterday, around 219 lives were lost in the devastating floods which swept through the eastern Valencia area recently. Over half of the fatalities occurred in flooded homes and garages, while others were discovered in streets and fields. The missing persons count stands at 13. Many furniture companies were also affected by the disaster in the area.
Reports speak of the ongoing efforts to bring relief to the Valencia area and uplift and restore lives and businesses battered by the unprecedented floods, as well as the ongoing support offered by companies and individuals in the area towards these efforts.

One of the companies which has stepped up in solidarity with those impacted is furniture company Ondaretta. The team released an official statement to those impacted by the floods: 'We cannot overlook the difficulties our Valencian neighbours are facing, and therefore, we want to express our solidarity and support for all those affected by DANA. We are undertaking various initiatives with the aim of contributing our small part to support the repair of the damage caused by this phenomenon.'
Viccarbe is one of the furniture companies affected. The premises and surrounding area were left flooded and inaccessible, and therefore out of service, following the unprecedented event, however, the company's team has worked hard to restore its operations and has announced its back in operation:
'We are pleased to inform you that Viccarbe has resumed its operations after the recovery efforts carried out by our team over the past two weeks.
On October 29th, the area of the city of Valencia experienced a flooding episode that temporarily affected our operations. Thanks to the effort and dedication of the Viccarbe Team, we have overcome this challenge and are working to get activities back on track.
We also want to share that we are already handling new orders with the same professionalism and diligence as always.We appreciate your understanding and support during this time.'
