'Largest one in the Nordic region'

'Paris of the North' welcomes new Søstrene Grene store

Aalborg, often called the Paris of the North, now hosts the largest Søstrene Grene store in the Nordic region. More than 400 customers recently queued outside, for the official opening of the new store, some arriving as early as 7:15AM.

This new store replaces the previous location at Nytorv in Aalborg. The Nytorv location was the third Søstrene Grene store to open outside Aarhus. Today, the popular franchise has over 300 stores across Europe.

Group CEO Mikkel Vaupell Grene and Creative Director Cresten Grene were there to welcome visitors to the new Aalborg store, and to cut the ribbon.

About the opening of this new store, Cresten says: 'When we opened our first store in Aalborg 35 years ago, we were a small family business, where everyone helped build the store. Today is a different set-up, but one thing that hasn't changed is our aim to deliver wonderful experiences for our customers. It is just fantastic and overwhelming to see the great turnout today, and we are delighted to bring the biggest Søstrene Grene in the Nordic countries to our many loyal customers in Aalborg.'

Søstrene Grene also opened its 45th UK store at the Churchill Square Shopping Centre in Brighton this week. This marks a significant step in the brand's expansion, with plans to reach 100 stores across the UK by 2030 as part of its global growth strategy.
