Two renowned German furniture brands face payment challenges amid declining demand

The German furniture industry is facing difficult times, with significantly reduced consumer spending. Troubling news has now emerged from two of the Vivonio Fine Furniture Group brands: Staud and Leuwico. The substantial drop in demand has resulted in acute payment difficulties for the companies.

Yesterday, both companies openly informed their suppliers about the situation. Employees and works councils have also been briefed on the current economic challenges. These issues also extend to Vivonio Holding GmbH and Vivonio Furniture GmbH, which provide internal services to the group with a small staff.

The management teams at Staud and Leuwico are working intensively to stabilise the situation. In a statement, the companies emphasised their commitment to transparency, while cautioning that detailed updates are not yet possible.

The production facilities of their sister companies, fm Büromöbel in Lower Saxony and Austria, and KA Interiør in Denmark, are unaffected. These businesses operate independently and continue to perform successfully. As a result, both fm Büromöbel and KA Interiør are maintaining full production and delivery capabilities, ensuring they remain robust contributors within the Vivonio network.
