After 30 years, DPG Media is stopping the largest consumer fair of the Netherlands, the vt wonen&design fair. "We've chosaen to focus on the other channels for our home cluster, including the magazines we revamped earlier this year, vtwonen's digital platform revamped last year, the new vtwonen shop and our TV programme," Koen Crijns, deputy director of Special Interest Media at DPG Media, reveals.
The vt wonen&design fair, formerly known as Woonbeurs Amsterdam, was a leading event in the Netherlands focusing on the latest trends and innovations in interior design, living and lifestyle. Every year, the event attracted thousands of visitors looking for inspiration, advice and the latest products for decorating and improving their homes. The fair offered a wide range of exhibitors, ranging from well-known home brands and designers to artisan start-ups, each with their unique contributions to the world of interior design.
Visitors could discover the latest collections of furniture, lighting, flooring, bathrooms, kitchens and accessories. In addition, the fair provided a platform for workshops, presentations and one-to-one advice from leading designers and stylists.
One of the features of the vt wonen&design fair was the presentation of various style rooms and model homes decorated by well-known stylists and brands. These inspiration houses showed the latest trends in interior design and gave visitors concrete ideas they could apply at home.
The fair was also an opportunity for industry professionals to network, explore collaborations and discuss the latest developments in the sector. The vt wonen&design fair usually took place in autumn at RAI Amsterdam. In 2022, after three years of absence, it moved to the Expo Haarlemmermeer (now Expo Greater Amsterdam) in Vijfhuizen. There, the fair could not really convince. The last edition took place in October.
