The design duo Draga Obradovic and Aurel K. Basedow bring their unique artistic synergy to Design Miami/ through their latest collection, Narrazioni Intrecciate (Interwoven Narratives). This project, which debuted at Visionnaire in Milan during the 2024 Furniture Fair, bridges art and design, encapsulating the creative excellence of Italian craftsmanship through Visionnaire's vision combined with the Lake Como-based artists' innovations.
Key highlights of the collection
Textile mastery: Draga's expertise in textiles transforms Aurel's dynamic brushstrokes into tactile and visual experiences. A mix of yarns—such as lurex, chenille, and bouclé—recreates the texture and movement of Aurel's paintings on fabric, enriching the material's depth and expressiveness.
Artistic objects: Standout pieces include the Aries armchair, with its jacquard fabric mimicking layered paintings, and the Muse room divider, where printed satin layers evoke the kinetic energy of Aurel's works. The Lego console playfully combines concrete and aluminum to symbolize compositional layering, while the Sputnik pendant lamp and Thessa separè explore geometry and motion.
