This comprehensive analysis, which utilizes extensive data from the three organizations, sheds light on the current state of cargo theft in Italy and outlines the necessary steps to address this issue.

In Italy, as in many other countries, there has been an alarming rise in strategically planned cargo thefts. Criminal networks are increasingly using sophisticated techniques to infiltrate the legitimate supply chain, taking advantage of Italy's high-value markets for luxury goods and pharmaceuticals. Clothing and apparel, in particular, have become major targets for thieves.

Josh Finch, Logistics Risk Manager at TT Club, has noted that Italy is not alone in seeing a sharp rise in cargo theft. Major highways and industrial hubs are especially attractive to criminals, who often strike when cargo is left unprotected or parked in unsecured locations.

The report also details how criminals are using new technologies, such as drones, to carry out surveillance and reconnaissance on targeted sites.

To help combat these threats, the report offers a range of recommendations and preventative measures. These include technologies like drone-disabling tools, radio frequency jammers, and secure parking solutions, as well as the importance of thorough due diligence by companies to protect their cargo.
