These are the flower trends for 2025

New year, new trends. Also in the field of flowers. A lot of thinking goes into the design process of the bouquets. We look at the trends in fashion and interior design as well as what is happening in the world. The result? Surprising bouquets full of special stems that seamlessly match the trends of the moment. From the trend colour of 2025 to a comeback of flowers from the garden; Poul Brouwer, floral stylist at bloomon, tells what to expect this year.

Future Dusk - the colour of the year 2025
"The colour of the year 2025, according to trend forecaster WGSN, is 'Future Dusk'. This hue is between blue and purple and has a mysterious and dreamy feel," says Poul. Future Dusk will be mixed with a range of bright colours inspired by the rays of the sun, stars and planets in 2025. The result is a versatile palette of rainbow hues. A striking combination that you will also see a lot of interiors. Poul: "Blue-purple flowers such as Allium, Clematis, iris and Consolida fit this trend in combination with Craspedia, Phlox and velvety Celosia."

Viva La Vida - celebrate life with exuberance
Bright pink, fiery red, magenta, sunny yellow and warm orange combined with earth tones. Are you already feeling the warmth of Spain and Mexico? "This trend is all about a vibrant palette of colour. The bouquets are eye-catching and festive, with full flowers that immediately grab attention," says Poul. Whether it's a lush bouquet or a single statement stem, this trend sees flowers like sunflower (flowers you often find in the garden are a big trend this spring), the peony, the (orange) lily and the sunflower.

Aquatic Awe - a cloud of pastel-coloured flowers
The Aquatic Awe trend is all about tranquillity and harmony. "In interiors, we see more and more hard materials such as ceramics and marble and this trend - inspired by remote deserts and the ocean - provides the necessary softness," explains Poul. For Aquatic Awe, white is combined with pastel shades such as soft yellow, sepia and light peach. The textures of the flowers are soft and the shape of the bouquets is reminiscent of a cloud, giving the whole thing a dreamy feel. Flowers that perfectly match this trend are the spray rose, gypsophila, Veronica, Limonium (sea lavender) but also dried grasses.

Slow Life - pastel chic on top
The Slow Life trend is all about tranquillity: the bouquets are simple and elegant. Flowers in pastel colours - for a calm atmosphere - are mixed with precisely contrasting shades. "Through this combination, you don't get sweet bouquets but rather chic ones," Poul explains. Popular flowers are the Zeeland knot, the waxflower, statice in soft shades of yellow, peach and lavender as well as Amaranthus clusters.

Unique Utopia - a colourful escape
Unique Utopia reflects the need for creativity and freedom amidst daily challenges. "This trend brings luxury and exuberance to interiors with richly filled tropical-inspired bouquets that spark the imagination," Poul explains. Flowers such as Strelitzia, Crocosmia, French tulip but also rose hip and Anigozanthos (kangaroo leg) create a vibrant, tropical atmosphere. The colour palette is striking and diverse: neutral browns are combined with deep shades of aubergine, bordeaux and mustard, interspersed with bright colours such as pink, yellow and turquoise. Leaf with graphic patterns and textures adds extra dimension to this opulent style.
