At Christmasworld, international retailers will be able to experience what colours, shapes and designs will be in vogue for Christmas decorations in the future. The Trend Area offers a unique overview of the exhibitors' new products, which will be presented by Stilbüro bora.herke.palmisano in three exciting trend worlds.
The Christmasworld Trends 25+ all share the same aims: be responsible, keep connected and stay optimistic. In the face of so much uncertainty around the world, our festive celebrations can really feel the weight of expectations. Energetic, confident designs can really help spread the load here. Three styles really show what it's all about.
'The three trend worlds are united by one guiding principle: be responsible and connected with nature and optimistic about the future,' says Claudia Herke, trend expert, Stilbüro bora.herke.palmisano.
Deep
The flow of nature becomes permanently fixed, whether as water droplets or clouds. Tried-and-tested craft techniques and natural materials inform what's here and now, with quality and conviction shining through. Digital tools introduce atmospheric metallic effects. These designs also allow for deep, sensory contemplation all year round – bringing peace.
A palette of high sensitivity and colours that occur unadulterated in nature supports introspection. Familiar nocturnal blue or soft eggshell colours. Alabaster white with its warm , calm radiance fits in with this character. Darker metallic nuances are also important, matt silver or gold lustre, which reflect the light magnificently through cleverly structured surfaces and provide a festive shimmer.
Real
A change for the better: longer-lasting products with more practical properties and resource-saving materials. These designs are radically simple and can be readily understood: there's nothing to disrupt the positive, celebratory effect they have on our body and soul. 3D printers produce perfect surfaces, and new materials secure a more sustainable future.
The balanced colour palette combines strength and balance. Individual colours are associated with durability and authenticity, both also reflected in objects' design. Christmassy green symbolises growth and fresh hope, while the shades of precious wood supply a soft, less-intense beige as a connection to the soil. The ideas of sustainability and environmental awareness find their true expression here.
Ease
Abundant creativity sparks joy. Unconventional and playful is interspersed with lively patterning and the new generation's imaginative, innovative creations. The best aspects of digital and artistic craft combine with contemporary design for all-round inspiration.
The world of colour indisputably brings bright joy, openness and spontaneous variety to our lives. Fresh sky blue or juicy, fragrant fruits like lemon and plum can do this. Cool moss prepares a forgiving, forest-floor backdrop. The lively interplay of shades is both wide-ranging and sustainable, boosted by designers' inventive outputs.
