Revenues for the Zumtobel Group in the first half of the 2024/25 financial year rose by 0.6%. 'While we are pleased with the results thus far, we remain cautious due to the challenging conditions ahead. Uncertainties driven by geopolitical tensions are expected to persist, particularly affecting construction activity in Europe and maintaining intense competition in the market for professional lighting solutions,' said Alfred Felder, CEO of Zumtobel Group.
The Lighting Segment saw a slight increase of 0.4%, reaching EUR 456.1 million. Net profit for the period stood at EUR 18.4 million, a decrease from EUR 21.2 million in the corresponding period last year.
In Northern and Western Europe, the company reported a positive revenue development, supported primarily by growth in the UK. However, revenues in Belgium declined compared to the previous year. In Southern and Eastern Europe, weaker performance in the Czech Republic and France contributed to the overall revenue decline. In the Asia & Pacific region, the Components Segment saw growth in Greater China, whereas revenues in the America & MEA region were adversely impacted by weak sales in the USA.
In October, the Zumtobel Group announced a strategic partnership with the ABB Group, focusing on the development of intelligent building solutions and direct current (DC) applications within the industrial sector. This partnership, along with the existing collaboration with Siemens subsidiary Enlighted, aims to enhance the Keyture product brand's offerings for integrated and intelligent lighting solutions in sustainable buildings.
Looking ahead, the Zumtobel Group remains cautious due to uncertainties stemming from geopolitical developments, energy, raw material, and transport costs, as well as ongoing inflation and interest rate trends. With these factors in mind, the Management Board anticipates moderate revenue growth, slightly above the prior year, for the 2024/25 financial year. The adjusted EBIT margin is expected to remain between 3% and 6%.
