Shepel', the multi-brand design studio and bespoke furniture manufacturer, has appointed Iain O'Mahony as its new Chief Operating Officer. With extensive experience in the high-end British kitchen market, including roles at Mark Wilkinson and most recently Smallbone of Devizes, O'Mahony brings a wealth of expertise to Shepel'. His career also spans a period at Linley, further cementing his credentials in the luxury interior space across the UK and US.

In his new role, O'Mahony will oversee the Shepel' family of brands, including Atelier Helen, Studio Shepel, Shepel Furniture, and S-Contract. Atelier Helen focuses on personalised joinery and custom kitchens for residential properties, while Studio Shepel specialises in curating luxury homes and commercial spaces globally. Shepel Furniture produces handcrafted bespoke furniture, and S-Contract caters to commercial interiors and trade clients.
'I decided to join Alex, Helen, and the Shepel' brand after a thorough search for a company that meets both my expectations for how a luxury brand should operate,' said O'Mahony. 'I am excited to be part of Shepel' as it embarks on the next chapter of its ambitious growth plan.'
Alexander Shepel, co-founder of Shepel', expressed his enthusiasm for O'Mahony's appointment, stating, 'We are thrilled to welcome Iain O'Mahony as Chief Operating Officer. His decades of experience will be vital as we continue to expand our presence both in the UK and globally.'
The company, founded by Ludvig R. Poulsen in 1874, initially operated as a wine import business before diversifying into electrical supplies. It was Poul Henningsen's innovative designs in the 1920s that transformed the brand, particularly with his three-shade system that reduced glare. Today, Louis Poulsen remains a key part of Shepel's identity, with a strong commitment to blending heritage with modern design.
As Shepel' continues to grow, expanding showrooms in Oslo, Tokyo, Singapore, Düsseldorf, and recently New York City, O'Mahony's extensive knowledge of the luxury sector will undoubtedly help steer the brand towards further success.
