Maersk has officially launched its first warehouse in France, situated in Denain, Northern France, to provide fulfilment services for a leading global e-commerce company. Located within the strategically significant GLP Park Denain complex, this new 75,000 m² facility represents Maersk's inaugural warehouse in France.
Positioned in the Hauts-de-France region—one of Europe's key logistics hubs—the warehouse sits near Lille and serves a population of nearly half a million within a 30-minute radius. Michele Cohonner, Regional Head of Maersk Contract Logistics in Europe, highlighted: 'The opening of this new facility marks a significant milestone for Maersk in France, significantly enhancing our contract logistics and warehousing capabilities in a crucial European market. We are thrilled to now have our anchor customer, allowing us to develop tailored solutions that benefit both them and their end customers.'

The site benefits from excellent connectivity, being near major motorways A2 and A21, with Brussels located 109 km away and Paris 198 km. Additionally, it is adjacent to the Scheldt River Canal (Grand Canal de l'Escaut), further boosting its logistics efficiency.
The warehouse, certified as BREEAM Very Good, features 85 loading docks, an 11.4-metre beam height, and a floor load capacity of 5 t/m². It also includes an automated docking system (autodocks) and separate circulation areas for heavy and light vehicles.
Philippe Graziani, Country Director at GLP France, commented: 'We are delighted to welcome Maersk as a major customer to GLP Park Denain. This lease agreement reinforces our ongoing commitment to investing in the Hauts-de-France region, which represents nearly a third of our portfolio in France.'
With this new facility, Maersk now offers warehousing and distribution services across 15 European countries, complementing its extensive global network. This follows the recent launch of another warehouse in Fredericia, Denmark, earlier in 2024.
'We are proud to support Maersk as they expand their presence in Europe,' added Graziani. 'Their presence in this region further strengthens Denain's role as a key logistics hub for the region.'
