Jysk shuts down store in France as part of larger strategy

Jysk, a well-known furniture, home décor, and bedding chain, is set to close its doors for good on 21st December 2024 in in Épinal, France. Located in the Terres Saint Jean area, the store is currently holding a clearance sale ahead of its permanent shutdown.

Over the years, it has been a go-to destination for customers in Épinal, offering a variety of products such as furniture, bed linens, and decorative items. However, the store's closure is part of a larger strategy, with the company refraining from disclosing specific reasons for this decision.

Customers can still shop at the store until the closure date to take advantage of substantial discounts during the liquidation sale. Once it shuts, Jysk's presence in Épinal will come to an end, leaving a gap in the local market for affordable home furnishings.

This closure is one of several across France as Jysk consolidates its operations. Despite these shutdowns, the company is actively expanding in other regions, focusing on strengthening its footprint in key urban centres. The Épinal store's closure is expected to affect both local shoppers and employees, though no announcements have been made regarding staff relocation or compensation plans.
