Senator International Group, a prominent office furniture manufacturer based in East Lancashire, has submitted proposals to replace an existing warehouse at its Blackburn site with a much larger facility. The development, situated at Whitebirk's Premier Business Park, is set to be reviewed by Blackburn with Darwen Council's planning committee, which has been advised by council officers to approve the project, subject to 20 conditions.
The proposed warehouse will cover an area of 1,530 square metres, with an additional dock leveller of 65 square metres, designed to support the company's expanding manufacturing operations. The building, standing at 14 metres tall, will feature modern high-bay racking to improve storage efficiency. Planners have described its flat-roofed design as "modern yet sympathetic" to the surrounding area.

In addition to the warehouse, the project includes plans to reconfigure the site's parking layout, increasing capacity from 47 to 66 spaces. Improved road markings and dedicated bays are expected to enhance traffic flow, contributing to a more efficient use of the site. The proposal also features tree planting and other soft landscaping measures to improve the overall appearance of the premises.
