Every December, Slumberland Furniture holds its most significant bedding initiative of the year, without selling a single mattress or box spring. Instead, the company dedicates the season to giving back, donating thousands of beds to families in need across the communities it serves.

According to a company statement, Slumberland Furniture will distribute around 2,000 mattress and box spring sets to various non-profit organisations this month. The Minot branch of the furniture retailer is once again participating in this annual tradition, donating 20 mattress sets in collaboration with Community Action. Additionally, handmade quilts from Our Redeemer's Quilting Bee will accompany the donations, offering even more comfort to those in need.
'It's our pleasure to partner together to help get a good night's sleep to those in need,' said Brandon Backes, manager of Slumberland Furniture in Minot. 'For far too many families, a warm bed has become a luxury. Through the "Homes for the Holidays" programme, Slumberland is working to ensure that everyone in our communities gets healthy sleep.'
The charitable programme, named 'Homes for the Holidays', began in 1993. Since its inception, Slumberland has provided over 42,000 new mattresses and box springs to families who need them most. The initiative reflects the company's commitment to supporting local communities and ensuring that everyone has access to the basics of comfort and rest.
By working with local partners, Slumberland continues to bring warmth and care to households during the festive season, embodying the true spirit of giving and community.
