The VELUX Group and Thylander are entering into a new partnership to accelerate the green transition of the Danish building sector. The agreement makes Thylander the first investor and developer in Denmark to apply Living Places principles in future construction projects. The plan is to build 500 new rental homes with a low carbon footprint.
The total climate impact of the construction sector is around 30% of Denmark's total CO2 emissions. To further accelerate the green transition, it is necessary to implement and scale up new solutions with a lower carbon footprint. The aim of the new agreement between the VELUX Group and Thylander is therefore to accelerate the transition of the building sector and give more Danes access to low-emission homes with healthy indoor climates.
"We are extremely happy with the agreement with Thylander on the Living Places concept. When a major player like Thylander is committed to building homes with a lower carbon footprint, it sends an important signal to the rest of the industry that concrete solutions already exist to the challenges we face. We look forward to following Thylander's work in implementing Living Places principles in their new rental homes," said Tina Mayn, Executive Vice President Products and Innovation at VELUX Group.
