Italian discount chain wants 25 shops in the Netherlands

An Italian discount chain, also described as a 'household fun', has opened its doors in Amsterdam-East on Molukkenstraat. The shop offers a wide range of household goods, from tools to decoration, and everything in between. This is Iper Megastore's second branch in the Netherlands, after Schiedam, and is part of its ambitious plans to open 25 shops in the Netherlands. Het Parool reports.

Everything under one roof
Iper Monda Casa, as the chain is officially called, targets customers looking for economical household solutions. With products from Italy, Spain and China, among others, the shop offers a diverse selection. Manager Amy Dong emphasises that the shop caters for the whole family, with specific aisles aimed at different needs. Be it kitchen supplies, Christmas decorations or children's toys.

An accessible shopping experience
The location is easily accessible with free parking at the door, making the shop attractive to a wide audience. The clean and uncluttered interior makes for a pleasant shopping experience. Iper also tries to attract new customers through promotions, such as a competition where customers can win a cash prize by making a promotional video.

Growth ambitions in the Netherlands
Iper Megastore is an established name in Italy with more than 20 megastores in the south of the country. After the first steps in the Netherlands with branches in Schiedam and Amsterdam, a shop in Zoetermeer is already in planning. The ambition is to eventually open 25 shops, with which the company hopes to gain a foothold in the Dutch market.
