Italy’s largest urban thermal park set to open in Milan this April

The much-anticipated De Montel – Terme Milano, the largest urban thermal park in Italy, is set to open on 1 April 2025 in Milan's San Siro district. Visitors can already book an experience to explore this remarkable wellness destination, which blends historic architecture with cutting-edge facilities in a lush natural setting.

Housed within the restored stables originally designed by architect Vietti Violi in the 1920s, De Montel is a prime example of Italian Liberty architecture. After years of abandonment, the stables have been meticulously restored through a philological approach that preserves their historic essence. Spanning over 16,000 square metres, the thermal park offers a wide array of holistic wellness experiences, complemented by a verdant park filled with thousands of plants.

The facility is managed by the Terme & SPA Italia Group, renowned for its expertise in operating some of Italy's most iconic thermal sites, including the prestigious Terme di Saturnia in Tuscany. De Montel seamlessly combines tradition and modern innovation, with a focus on accessible and sustainable wellness. Located in the heart of Milan, it aims to offer an urban sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation.

The architectural vision for De Montel was conceived by Studio Marzorati, with executive design and construction overseen by J+S. The project was brought to life through an investment exceeding €50 million from the Infrastructures for Growth ESG fund of Azimut Libera Impresa SGR, part of the Azimut Group.

With its unique blend of history, innovation, and ecological sensitivity, De Montel – Terme Milano is poised to become a landmark destination for wellness enthusiasts in Italy and beyond.
