The first ever Abimis kitchen in a 19th century building in Veneto

Nestled in the heart of Oderzo, a historic town in the province of Treviso, this 19th-century private home reflects the rich architectural heritage of Veneto. Retaining its original charm, the residence showcases features like wooden floorboards and white-painted exposed beams, which enhance the brightness and spaciousness of the interiors.

Recently renovated, the home is now occupied by a young family who prioritised creating a central living space that integrates seamlessly with a bespoke kitchen. During the refurbishment, walls were removed to combine the kitchen and dining areas into one cohesive, open space. The family, passionate about gourmet cooking, sought a kitchen that would not only serve as a functional area but also as a central part of their daily lives.

The result is an Abimis Ego kitchen, designed to fit the home's layout with precision. Constructed entirely from stainless steel, this bespoke kitchen exemplifies craftsmanship and innovation. The kitchen comprises a corner layout with a central island, blending functionality and design. Along one wall, a large double-door refrigerator, two ovens, and a capacious wine cellar are neatly incorporated. Another wall, centred around a window, houses the cooking and washing areas, with a stainless steel top and back splash extending to frame the window compartment.

A stand-out feature of the kitchen is the seamless construction. The units were pre-welded and assembled on site to eliminate visible joints, ensuring both aesthetic cohesion and superior hygiene. This approach extends to the integrated sink and hob, which are flush with the surface, eradicating dirt-prone edges and making cleaning more efficient. The rounded corners of the kitchen, including the profiles of its flush-fitting doors, highlight Abimis's attention to detail and patented innovations.

To complement the home's minimal and contemporary style, the stainless steel surfaces were hand-polished with a matt orbital finish, adding warmth and sophistication. The central island, which serves dual purposes, is another highlight. On the kitchen-facing side, it functions as a work area, while on the dining room side, it transforms into a breakfast counter with sleek bar stools. The island's top, crafted from striking black granite, provides a dramatic contrast to the room's predominantly white palette and the polished steel of the kitchen.

The design of the kitchen prioritises ergonomics and practicality. The recessed plinth allows the cook to work in a more comfortable position, while the distribution of functional zones optimises movement during meal preparation. The choice of AISI 304 stainless steel, known for its durability, heat resistance, and antibacterial properties, further enhances the kitchen's functionality. This biologically neutral material ensures food safety and is recyclable, aligning with the family's preference for a sustainable and environmentally friendly space.

The owners sought a high-performance kitchen inspired by professional culinary environments but tailored for domestic use. The Abimis Ego kitchen delivers on this vision, offering the same level of efficiency and precision as a restaurant kitchen while maintaining an inviting and sociable aesthetic.

Abimis continues to redefine domestic cooking spaces with precision-engineered, customisable kitchens that merge professional-grade functionality with contemporary design. This kitchen serves as a testament to how thoughtful design can transform a home into a haven for culinary passion and shared experiences.
