Danish kitchen manufacturer Kvik releases a new design: Celleno. A classic design with refined details that give the kitchen a luxurious and timeless look. Celleno combines simplicity, functionality and quality and is made of responsible materials. For instance, the protective film layer of the cabinets is made of recycled PET bottles and the fronts are made of recycled MDF. From January 2025, Celleno will be available from Kvik in the colours arizona beige and green.
Design origins
Celleno is inspired by the so-called 'Shaker kitchen', also known as 'cottage style'. This style originates from the Shaker community in the United States, which was known in the 18th and 19th centuries for their simple, practical and functional approach to everyday life. The Shakers placed great emphasis on craftsmanship and minimalism in their designs. Traits that Kvik has given a modern twist to for the design of Celleno.
Claus Johnsen, head of design at Kvik, says: "A traditional Shaker kitchen goes hand in hand with the Danish design principles we use when designing our kitchens: thoughtful, functional ánd with attention to detail. For the Celleno concept, we applied the Danish design principles in a reinterpretation of a Shaker kitchen, retaining the classic elements but with a contemporary look."
Transparency
According to Kvik, a kitchen should not only look stylish, but also consider future generations. In line with this vision, Kvik launched a tool in 2024 that provides insight into the environmental impact of their products. This tool has also been applied to Celleno. Johnsen: "In a personalised calculation, customers are shown how many recycled PET bottles and recycled wood have been used in their new kitchen and what the carbon footprint is. In this way, we want to help our customers make an informed decision."
