Iconic home décor brand Jonathan Adler has been acquired by Consortium Brand Partners (CBP), a prominent consumer investment firm, marking a significant milestone in the company's history. The acquisition was finalised in December 2024, with the purchase price remaining undisclosed. CBP joined forces with American Exchange Group, a leader in fashion accessories, design, and distribution, to close the deal.

Jonathan Greller, president and co-founder of CBP, praised the acquisition, stating, 'Jonathan Adler's exceptional talent and vision have made the brand a beloved leader in home design for decades.' He added, 'This acquisition not only expands our offerings in the home décor space but also enhances our ability to create compelling and timeless brand experiences that resonate with consumers across multiple lifestyle categories in a fun and beautiful way.'

Founder Jonathan Adler expressed his excitement about the partnership, saying, 'I am truly excited to partner with the Consortium and American Exchange Group teams and build the brand to new heights. Their fantastic reputations and expertise will enable us to grow globally, entering exciting new categories and broader channels of distribution.' Adler will continue in his role as chief creative officer, maintaining his leadership and creative direction of the brand known for its bold, modern, and playful designs.

Under the new ownership structure, Jonathan Adler will maintain its retail stores in the United States and the United Kingdom. The strategic partnership with American Exchange Group will also facilitate the expansion of the brand's brick-and-mortar presence as well as its product portfolio for international wholesale accounts.

Alen Mamrout, president and CEO of American Exchange Group, noted that the partnership would combine CBP's strength in strategic investments and brand-building with American Exchange's expertise in manufacturing and distribution. 'Together, we are committed to elevating the Jonathan Adler brand to even greater heights, expanding its global reach and product offerings,' Mamrout said.

This acquisition marks CBP's third in the past 18 months, following previous deals with Draper James, the lifestyle brand founded by actress Reese Witherspoon, and Outdoor Voices, an athleisure brand. The move reflects CBP's ongoing strategy of investing in iconic lifestyle brands with a strong consumer following.

Jonathan Adler's acquisition opens up new opportunities for the brand to grow on a global scale, with plans to enter exciting new product categories and expand its international presence. This strategic partnership is set to propel Jonathan Adler into the next phase of its evolution, reinforcing its position as a leading name in home décor and design.
