During Design Week 2025, Radar Interior will unveil the new silver version of the Spectre lamp, designed by Pierre Charrié under the artistic direction of Bastien Taillard. This innovative creation is the result of a profound exploration of the interplay between glass and light, delving into the optical properties of diffusion. Known for his keen sensitivity to the sensory dimension of everyday objects, Charrié focuses on how materials, sounds, and gestures can interact to create surprising experiences. With Spectre, he draws inspiration from reflective glass, using its unique ability to shape and modulate light as the foundation of the design.
Spectre is a wall lamp that combines artistry and functionality. It features a sleek structure in matte black lacquered metal with integrated LEDs, supporting a meticulously handcrafted, hammered glass disc with a 34 cm diameter—an iconic material for Radar Interior. The glass disc is positioned 11 cm away from the wall, allowing light to strike its surface and create a captivating play of light and shadow. These projections enhance the intricate details of the glass's textured craftsmanship, transforming illumination into a visual spectacle.
A defining characteristic of Spectre is its interactivity. Users can manually adjust the angle of the glass disc using a satin-finished steel rod, enabling endless variations of lighting effects. This ability to customise the light's direction and intensity allows Spectre to transcend its role as a lamp, becoming a dynamic work of art that adapts to individual preferences and spaces.
