The Cotswold Company announces a remarkable 22% year-on-year sales growth

Ralph Tucker, CEO of The Cotswold Company, recently shared a trading update that highlighted the company's strong performance during the critical Christmas trading period. For the nine weeks leading up to 29th December, the company experienced a remarkable 22% year-on-year sales growth, significantly outperforming the wider UK home and furniture market.

The update revealed several key achievements that have contributed to the company's success. The Cotswold Company was proud to announce that it had achieved B Corp status, a recognition of its commitment to social and environmental responsibility. This milestone reflects the company's ongoing efforts to be a force for good, aligning its business practices with values that benefit both people and the planet.

In addition to this, the company saw success in expanding its product offerings and retail presence. Through geo-targeted digital marketing campaigns, The Cotswold Company successfully rolled out its upholstery proposition and opened its 10th showroom in Stamford, where showroom sales grew by an impressive 66%. The launch of the company's product range in prominent UK retailers Next and John Lewis & Partners, both in-store and online, also marked an important step towards becoming a truly omni-channel brand.

Another significant achievement for the company was a 20% increase in its active customer base, which demonstrated the strength of its brand and product proposition. Furthermore, the company revealed plans to open its 11th showroom in Marlow, set to open in the coming days, signalling continued expansion and growth.

Ralph Tucker emphasised the shift in consumer preferences towards high-quality, durable furniture, saying, 'More and more consumers are moving away from "throwaway" furniture in favour of high-quality, made-to-last products.' He expressed his delight that an increasing number of customers are choosing The Cotswold Company to furnish their homes.

Looking ahead to 2025, The Cotswold Company has exciting plans in the pipeline. Ralph Tucker promised more updates in the near future, as the company continues to build on its momentum and strives to achieve even greater success in the coming year.
