Skargaarden unveils the Tira collection, an acclaimed collaboration with renowned Swedish designer Per Waern Jensen. Inspired by the serene beauty of Sweden's Tira islands, this collection embodies Scandinavian minimalism while showcasing the enduring elegance of nature.
The centrepiece of the Tira collection is its distinctive armchair, which takes its design cues from a bird's nest. Its legs, resembling branches, encircle the seat and backrest, creating a sleek yet inviting structure. Every detail reflects the harmonious connection to nature that defines this collection, making it a timeless addition to both modern and traditional interiors.
Named after the Tira islands—a southern Swedish nature reserve celebrated for its ancient forests and abundant birdlife—the collection captures the essence of this unspoiled environment. By drawing upon the islands' rich biodiversity, the design merges sustainability with aesthetics, offering versatile pieces that bring a sense of the wild into any setting.
Speaking about his inspiration, Per Waern Jensen shared, 'The inspiration behind the Tira series is nature itself. My intention was to design furniture that embodies the raw beauty of the wilderness, infusing any space with a natural, untamed energy, regardless of where it's placed.'
The Tira dining chair features a powder-coated black aluminium frame with a dark grey rope seat and backrest. Its lightweight yet sturdy design ensures practicality and style. The accompanying dining table, crafted from powder-coated aluminium, offers a maintenance-free finish that suits both indoor and outdoor use.
Scheduled for release in early February, the Tira collection is available for pre-order now, allowing customers to secure their piece of this innovative design.
Per Waern Jensen, celebrated for his dedication to craftsmanship and detail, earned his Master's degree in furniture design from the Royal Danish Academy in 2006. After refining his expertise in interior and retail design for over fifteen years, he established his own studio in 2022. His work, deeply rooted in Scandinavian principles of simplicity and functionality, reflects a profound respect for nature. The Tira collection stands as a testament to his vision of enduring beauty and sustainability.
