JYSK to expand in Ireland with five new stores and a new head office

Danish home retail brand JYSK has announced plans to open five new stores in Ireland in 2025 as part of its continued expansion in the country. The new locations will include Tullamore in County Offaly, Blackpool in County Cork, and Swords Pavilions in Dublin, with openings expected in the early part of the year. Two additional stores are set to open later in 2025, and each store will create up to ten new jobs in the local communities.

As part of its expansion, JYSK will also relocate its head office to a new site in Park West Business Park, investing €250,000 in the move. The new office will accommodate up to 50 employees across various departments. This will be the second time JYSK has moved its head office since entering the Irish market, reflecting the company's growth in the region. The new office is separate from JYSK's 8,000 square foot dark store, which opened in November 2024 and aims to improve delivery times to customers, reducing them to between two and eight days. The company has stated that it plans to further enhance its delivery speed this year.

JYSK first entered the Irish market in 2019 and has since grown rapidly, now operating 25 stores across the country with a workforce of 310 employees. Roni Tuominen, Country Director for JYSK UK & Ireland, commented on the company's success in Ireland, attributing it to a combination of Scandinavian design, competitive pricing, and a deep understanding of Irish consumer preferences. He added, 'JYSK's success in Ireland stems from our blend of Scandinavian design, competitive pricing, and our deep understanding of what the Irish customer wants, ultimately creating a trusted brand that helps transform houses into homes.'

The opening of the new stores and head office further solidifies JYSK's commitment to the Irish market as it continues to expand its footprint. The company's strategy includes not only increasing the number of physical stores, but also improving its logistics and delivery infrastructure to better serve Irish customers.
