Collingwood Batchellor takes over 10,000sqft former Carpetright building

The furniture and homeware business has taken over a 10,000sqft former Carpetright building on London Road, opening just in time for the winter sales. This move follows the clearance of stock and the closure of its smaller store located further along the same road, marking the end of an eight-year trading period there.

Founded in 2016, Collingwood Batchellor originally took over the former Rusdens furniture store, previously owned by the Glenister family. The £12 million business now operates seven stores across Surrey, Kent, and Sussex.

This new, larger location in East Grinstead allows the retailer to expand its presence and offer a broader selection of furniture and homeware to its growing customer base.
