Tvåla & Tvaga wins the Formex Sustainability Award

For the third year in a row, the Formex jury has selected a winner of the Formex Sustainability Award. This year, Tvåla & Tvaga won the prize for their thoughtful household soap, Skina.

The Formex Sustainability Award, just like in previous years, is organized as a competition where exhibiting companies could participate by submitting products. The jury nominated six of the submitted entries, all of which are represented in a mini-exhibition at the fair. The winner was Tvåla & Tvaga with their multifunctional household soap, Skina.

The jury's motivation is as follows:
A thoughtful, Swedish-made, and handmade household soap made from pre-saponified organic oils that works for dishwashing, laundry, and cleaning. It conserves resources by replacing liquid products and eliminates the need for plastic bottles, while natural water ecosystems are not disturbed when it is released into the drain. One soap to rule them all – the winner of the Formex Sustainability Award 2025 is Tvåla & Tvaga!

'This is a huge achievement for us! The award is also a confirmation that it is possible to combine design and sustainability in a simple skincare product, like this soap actually is. I'm also proud that the award goes to a small company that manufactures all its products right here in Sweden,' says Anna Stenegärd, CEO of Tvåla & Tvaga. Anna Stenegärd received the award – a unique glass statuette that celebrates the sea and water, designed by Marie-Louise Hellgren – at the Formex press breakfast.

The idea for the household soap Skina was born in 2022, when Anna Stenegärd became tired of feeling odd using the same soap for both washing herself and doing the dishes. She felt there was a need for a product that clearly showed it was possible, so Tvåla & Tvaga launched the soap Skina – which can be used for laundry, dishwashing, and cleaning – and of course, for washing hands.

'It felt important to emphasise that the choice isn't about selecting a product for each specific use, but about choosing between a good and a bad product. And organic handmade soaps are definitely a good product! We live and breathe sustainability at the company, and our "industry" literally consists of four arms and an immersion blender. Small-scale and thoughtful. For a small company like ours, it's also an economic matter not to waste leftovers, for example.'

The Formex Sustainability Award was established to highlight good examples in the industry and promote sustainable development. This year's jury consists of chairperson Maria Soxbo, journalist and co-founder of Klimatklubben, Malin Jensen, interior designer, Maria Lagerman, specialist in circular business models, Emma Olbers, designer, and Daniel Svahn, designer and interior architect. The award is presented annually in conjunction with the spring Formex fair.

'Formex works continuously to promote sustainability by encouraging companies to think long-term and integrate sustainable methods into their production. This is the third time the award is being presented. Our goal is to continue highlighting role models among the exhibitors who, in turn, can inspire both other exhibitors and visitors to a deeper understanding of what can make a difference in sustainability. Tvåla & Tvaga, with their amazing soap, has shown that it is possible to combine sustainability and functionality in an impressive way,' says Sonja Björk Ebert, project manager for Formex.
