For two decades, the Lichtwoche Sauerland has brought light into the darkness. From 16 till 21 February 2025, the Sauerland will once again become the meeting point for the lighting and lamp industry.
For more than 100 years, lamps have been designed, produced and traded in the Sauerland - for all living environments. What once began as a regional exhibition has grown over the past 20 years into a European stage for the international lighting industry. Design, technology and inspiration for illuminated homes, gardens, offices and public spaces come together here.

Cradle of lighting
Michael Kossmann, spokesperson for the Lichtwoche Sauerland, emphasises the importance of the event: "The Sauerland is the cradle of lighting - a place where tradition, present and future of the industry come together. With the Lichtwoche Sauerland 20 years ago, the industry created a platform that can no longer be ignored." Philipp Müller, co-spokesman, shares this view: "The lighting trade constantly needs new inspiration and impulses for the future of lighting. The decision to switch to an annual event was definitely the right one."
Artificial intelligence
For the first time at this anniversary edition, an app based on artificial intelligence (KI) will be introduced to help visitors plan their ideal route past the exhibitors. Dennis Köhler, responsible for the management of the Lichtwoche, explains: "Until now, there was no suitable solution, but thanks to the new possibilities of artificial intelligence, an app is now indispensable. We want visitors to be able to focus fully on the innovations and get the most out of their visit to the exhibitors." The Lichtwoche Sauerland is an event that connects Europe and has gained an international reputation. From Sweden to Spain, from France to England, and from Italy to Austria, international exhibitors present their latest creations. At the same time, thousands of professionals from home and abroad use the fair as a platform for networking and inspiration.
And when the lights go out in the 41 exhibitions on 17 February, the second day of the fair, the evening really begins: the great LightNight invites you to end the day with culinary delights, music and inspiring encounters. The motto "We Love Light" reflects the atmosphere of this special evening - a night full of energy, ideas and connections that will linger long after.
