This was Heimtextil 2025: over the 50,000 visitors from 142 countries

Heimtextil 2025 once again proved its worth as a leading trade fair for residential and contract textiles. With more than 50,000 visitors from 142 countries, over 3,000 exhibitors and a 10 per cent increase in visitor numbers, records were broken. The fair set new standards with Heimtextil Trends 25/26, curated by Alcova Milano, and Patricia Urquiola's innovative installation among-us. The event focused on themes such as AI-driven design, sustainable production processes and the future of interior design.

"The growth in exhibitors and visitors shows that trade shows are more important than ever. In times of economic uncertainty, resilience and market visibility offer the key to success. Heimtextil opens doors to new markets and enables the industry to play an active role in global competition," said Detlef Braun, member of the executive board of Messe Frankfurt.

With 96 per cent international exhibitors and a visitor group of which 84 per cent came from abroad, Heimtextil cemented its position as a world leader. The top 10 exhibiting countries included China, India, Pakistan, Turkey and Germany, while visitor numbers grew especially in markets such as Argentina, France, India and the United States.

Inspiring trends and innovation: Highlights of Heimtextil 2025
Heimtextil Trends 25/26, curated by Alcova Milano, offered a roadmap for the industry. Under the theme Future Continuous, trends such as Naturally Uneven, Radically Restructured and Regenerative were presented. These themes highlighted what consumers are looking for today: sustainable, high-quality and ethically responsible products. The trend colours, such as Revival Mud and New Green Deal, reflected this philosophy.

Patricia Urquiola brought her vision to life with among-us, an immersive installation that demonstrated the potential of textile-based solutions for hospitality and interior design. Her functional and aesthetic approach inspired designers and decision-makers worldwide.

Knowledge sharing as key to resilience
With more than 140 lectures, workshops and tours, Heimtextil acted as a global knowledge platform. The programme offered insights into circular manufacturing, forward-looking interior design trends and the impact of AI on design and customer interactions. "Through collaborations and new insights, we enable the industry to respond to changing markets," stated Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies.

Looking ahead to Heimtextil 2026
In 2026, Heimtextil will further expand its focus on innovation and transformation. Patricia Urquiola will deepen her pioneering concepts, while Alcova Milano will continue its research into new materials and aesthetics. Heimtextil 2026 will take place from 13 to 16 January.
