A packed agenda
The January Furniture Show, held from January 19-22, offered a packed agenda, combining product showcases with engaging events and discussions. Visitors explored new designs and exclusive launches across four halls, while the Social Studio in Hall 2 hosted key industry events. Highlights included the Furniture Awards, and the lively Show Party at the Champagne Bar. Thought-provoking sessions like The Future of Sustainable Furniture and Artificial Intelligence for Furniture Imagery, by Presti AI attracted crowds eager to explore innovation. Networking moments, such as Happy Hour on Monday and the Women in Furniture Network event, added a vibrant social touch to the show.

Trends
Exhibitors at the January Furniture Show acknowledged the challenges posed by the current economic climate, with many noting tighter budgets and cautious consumer spending. However, their optimism shone through as they embraced the opportunity to connect with buyers and showcase their latest innovations. Some of the trends that were visible at the fair were:

  • Bold patterns!
  • Mix & match: in chairs and dining tables and different types of upholstery.
  • Curved edges in sofas and chairs are now making way in the UK.
  • Traditional design is still very popular, with classic furniture pieces and striped or chequered patterns.
  • Wooden furniture, especially (white) oak is doing well.
  • Multi-functional furniture, with different customisable options.
  • Velvet fabrics.
  • Earth tones, like dark greens and rusty browns were a popular choice.
  • AI and sustainability, which were also featured in the discussions at the Social Studio!
