New CEO aims to revive growth for Kvik

Claus Flyger Pejstrup is set to become the CEO of Kvik on 1 February, tasked with steering the company back to growth following a challenging period for the kitchen market. The company, employing approximately 1,200 staff, reported a 2023 turnover of DKK 1.5 billion, down from DKK 1.8 billion in 2022. Profitability also declined, with net earnings dropping to DKK 144 million from DKK 217 million the previous year.

Pejstrup succeeds Jens-Peter Poulsen, who stepped down as the CEO of Kvik in autumn 2024 after 12 years as CEO. In a statement, Pejstrup expressed enthusiasm for leading the "strong and professional organisation," aiming to restore its growth trajectory following a decade of success prior to recent setbacks.

The incoming CEO brings extensive experience, having previously served as CEO of Norlys' customer division and as a member of the LEGO Group's Executive Board, where he was instrumental in expanding physical stores and accelerating online sales globally. He noted the importance of "interaction between physical and digital" retail for customer experience and expressed plans to enhance both aspects alongside franchisees.

Founded in 1983, Kvik operates 180 franchise stores across 13 countries, specialising in Danish-designed kitchen, bathroom, and wardrobe solutions. Despite market challenges, the organisation has retained a strong foundation, including its headquarters in Vildbjerg near Herning.

Pejstrup emphasised his eagerness to engage with the team and further develop the brand, which he described as having a "strong culture" and significant potential for future success.
