These are the top three design trends for 2025 in Germany

As the German furniture industry unveils sustainable and innovative solutions for creating tranquil retreats, rounded shapes, light colours, and cosy materials dominate the 2025 interior design landscape. Key trends span kitchens, living spaces, bedrooms, and bathrooms, each highlighting functionality and aesthetics. Take a look at the different trends in each room!

Rounded kitchens in light colours
Kitchens are becoming homelier with natural tones like beige, cream, and light grey, complemented by the rising popularity of bronze accents in fittings. Rounded elements—curved kitchen islands, counters, and upper cabinets—soften minimalist designs, while round dining tables emerge as a stylish addition. Earth tones pair with wood finishes and glass showcases, while linoleum fronts with matte, patterned surfaces offer practicality and elegance. This material transitions seamlessly between open kitchens and dining areas.

Ribbed designs for living and dining areas
Ribbed wood fronts with vertical grooves, once limited to kitchens, are now a staple in living and dining spaces, giving sideboards and cabinets a natural appeal. Oak remains a favourite wood, appearing in lacquered or ceramic finishes, or with saw-roughened textures featuring natural cracks. Dining furniture gains prominence, with upholstered chairs and benches designed for prolonged comfort. Swivel and tilting chairs enhance ergonomics, and extendable dining tables provide versatility.

Organic shapes in upholstered furniture
Sofas and armchairs focus on comfort and organic aesthetics. Soft curves, bouclé fabrics, and light earth tones define these pieces, alongside feminine shades like peach and rose. Bold designs include bubble-shaped cushions and pillow-style sofas. Multifunctionality is key: couches feature LED lighting, USB ports, wireless charging stations, and built-in speakers. Sustainable materials, such as recycled fibres, are increasingly important.

Luxurious bedrooms and family beds
Bedrooms exude warmth through wood, lacquered surfaces, and fabrics in hues like champagne. Elements such as Vienna straw weave and rounded bed corners create a cosy vibe. Beds boast plush headboards and sleek legs, while oversized family beds accommodate parents and children. Customisable wardrobes offer extensive storage, with features like pull-out shoe racks and jewellery trays. Where space allows, walk-in wardrobes provide elegant organisation for clothing and accessories.

Bathroom retreats
Bathrooms transform into serene oases by combining matte lacquer with wood accents, solid wood, and illuminated shelving. Light tones dominate, complemented by pastel or vibrant colours and dark shades like black or deep green for a luxurious touch. Features such as panelled fronts in a country style and smart technologies for showers, toilets, and lighting add sophistication and convenience.

Sustainability across all spaces
Throughout, sustainable materials and ecological production methods are pivotal, reflecting a growing demand for environmentally conscious design. These trends not only enhance functionality but also foster a sense of comfort and well-being in every corner of the home.
