A furniture manufacturer in Zakarpattia Oblast (Ukraine) plans to recruit 160 Bangladeshi workers as part of its production expansion. Negotiations are underway with the Foreign Ministry to finalise employment contracts.

The Lamella State Enterprise, which has been in operation since 2001, has grown from a small workshop into a major exporter to European markets. Currently employing 430 staff, the company's increased production capacity has created a demand for 700 employees.

Management highlighted the factory's comprehensive social benefits, including free meals, transport within 50 km, and an average salary of 25,000 UAH (approximately £490). 'Businesses with the necessary infrastructure are facing a critical shortage of workers,' a spokesperson said.

The expansion comes as Ukrainian businesses navigate workforce challenges while maintaining economic stability.
