'14% increase in exhibitors'

75th edition of Spring Fair concluded at the NEC Birmingham

As the 75th edition of Spring Fair concluded at the NEC Birmingham, the UK's largest retail trade show for Home, Gift & Fashion proved to be a resounding success. Over four days, more than 38,000 retail buyers and industry professionals attended to discover the latest trends, meet suppliers, and shape the future of retail. Major retailers such as Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, Tesco, and Wayfair were among the attendees, highlighting the show's industry-wide significance.

Spring Fair has become the UK's fastest-growing retail show, with a 14% increase in exhibitors and 18% more new exhibitors in 2025. Reports indicated that buyers had higher budgets and greater spending power. Event Director Soraya Gadelrab emphasised, 'The show's evolution is not just about size; it's about impact. Our success is measured by the growth and achievements of the businesses it serves.'

This year, the show championed emerging brands through initiatives like the #SBS Village with Theo Paphitis and the New Business Pavilions. Melissa McQuade from Charley's Wild World shared, 'I have actually met with six different zoos here—contacts I've been trying to reach for two years! Being at Spring Fair has made all the difference.' Meanwhile, Georgia and Tom Calvert from Avorium added, 'It's been a learning curve as it's our first show, but we've had lots of good leads and met plenty of people that we'll follow up with after the event.'

Spring Fair 2025 redefined the trade show experience with immersive activations, including the Licensing Lab stage, a new Buyers Lounge offering a High Street-inspired experience, and the Gift of the Year Showcase & Pavilion. Chris Workman from The Giftware Association said, 'Spring Fair has been fantastic for the Gift of the Year Showcase, Pavilion, and Judging Area. It has been a busy, successful week.'

Retailers across the UK engaged in meaningful conversations with suppliers, strengthening industry connections. Tracey Sysum from Marina Homeware remarked, 'We have found everything we are looking for. It's been great meeting suppliers, and the Buyer Lounge is a real treat.' The introduction of Heritage 75 fragranced candles and diffusers added a nostalgic touch, with Laurie Morgan from Quintessence Fragrances saying, 'This remarkable opportunity enabled us to connect with both existing and potential new customers, significantly expanding our outreach and influence.'

The event also saw the debut of Moda x Pure, bringing together leading brands in fashion, accessories, and jewellery. Oliver Greenaway from Moo Chuu commented, 'This is our first time at such a big trade fair. It's been very busy, and we have taken on new stockists and made several orders.' The Moda x Pure Catwalk showcased contemporary fashion, with Graduate Fashion Week designers closing the show on a high note.

Key industry figures shared insights, including Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, who declared, 'This is where the world will change for retailers and brands in the next two decades!' and Theo Paphitis, who reinforced the resilience of small businesses.

With record-breaking attendance, 1,500 exhibitors, and an array of successful networking opportunities, Spring Fair 2025 has set a new benchmark for the industry. As anticipation builds for 2026, the connections made and innovations introduced will continue to shape the retail landscape.
